New Co-ordinator appointed to aid Independents

The Independent Network has appointed a Co-ordinator to get as many independent councillors as possible elected at the 2011 local elections, and boost the presence of independent candidates across the country.

Tamsin Omond will work for the Independent Network, facilitating independent candidates throughout the UK. She stood as an Independent candidate for Hampstead and Kilburn in the 2010 General Election and has a wealth of campaigning experience in the environmental and ethical field.

Standing independently can be a lonely experience. Independent candidates run without the support of a national organisation, instead relying on the goodwill of friends and families. The Independent Network is confident that Tamsin can provide the encouragement and resources necessary to affect change.
