Independent Network gathers support from influential and commited Independents

Martin Bell OBE, John Stevens, Mayor Egginton, Professor Colin Copus, Suzanne Moore, Cllr Keith Ross OBE, Cllr Ruth O’Keeffe and Cllr Marianne Overton have joined the Council of Reference: a body of exemplary independents dedicated to the promotion of independent politics in the UK.

 

We are delighted for the involvement of Martin Bell OBE, the former BBC war correspondent and independently elected MP, John Stevens, a former Independent MEP for Thames Valley, Suzanne Moore, an award winning columnist for the Mail on Sunday and an independent candidate in the 2010 General Election, Cllr Keith Ross OBE, is the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Association (LGA) and leader of the Independent Group, Mayor Tony Egginton, the first independently elected Mayor of the Mansfield district in Nottinghamshire, Cllr Ruth O'Keeffe, local columnist and Independent councillor and Cllr Marianne Overton, Leader of Lincolnshire Independents.

 

As IN develops its campaign for an independent movement in British politics, we develop the need for fair representation. The Council of Reference will act to maintain the Bell principles within the organisation.
